Project Overview

This home explores a more expressive approach to modern living — where darker tones, contrasting materials, and unexpected colour pairings come together to create a space that feels both curated and personal.

Rather than following a single rigid style, the design leans into an eclectic mix of elements, unified through a consistent use of lighting, materiality, and spatial flow.

The experience begins at the foyer, where material and lighting set the tone for the rest of the home.

A combination of textured stone surfaces and dark wood finishes creates a strong, grounded arrival. The space is intentionally kept minimal, allowing the richness of the materials to take focus. Above, a skylight introduces natural light, softening the darker palette and bringing a subtle contrast between light and shadow.

This interplay of brightness and depth creates a more dynamic entry sequence — one that shifts throughout the day.

A key feature within this space is a concealed door that integrates seamlessly into the carpentry, leading into the kitchen. Designed to read as part of the wall, it maintains a clean visual line while adding an element of surprise and spatial layering.

The living area is designed as the visual anchor of the home, featuring a full-height display wall that showcases the homeowner’s collection. Warm integrated lighting highlights each piece, turning the wall into both a storage solution and a statement feature.

A natural stone backdrop and dark carpentry frame the space, creating depth while allowing the display to stand out as the focal point.

The kitchen introduces a bold contrast through its red and muted green palette, adding energy and character to the home. Clean lines and seamless cabinetry keep the space functional and uncluttered, while under-cabinet lighting softens the overall look.
